The Group Treasurer will lead the companyʼs global treasury operations, ensuring optimal liquidity management, funding strategies, and financial risk management for both the Lending &Pay as well as Deposits Business Units. You will oversee the efficient use of secured debt facilities, manage cash flows, and implement deposit-raising strategies as the company transitions into banking. A key focus will be on maintaining financial stability by ensuring compliance with regulatory capital and liquidity requirements, including capital adequacy ratios. The Treasurer will be responsible for developing and automating treasury processes to enhance operational efficiency, optimizing working capital, and mitigating risks related to interest rates and currency exposures. Success in this role will be measured by maintaining sufficient liquidity to support business growth, meeting regulatory standards, and improving treasury operations in alignment with the companyʼs strategic goals.
Outcomes
- Cash forecasting: Maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash forecasts, ensuring they align with business growth and liquidity needs. Introduce new tools or platforms for forecasting if needed, improving the accuracy and timeliness of cash flow projections. Outcome Achieve a forecasting accuracy rate of over 95% with successful implementation of any necessary tools to improve forecasting efficiency.
- Liquidity management: Monitor and manage daily liquidity and report with a dashboard to protect the companyʼs cash position Outcome: maximize yield on idle cash investments. Ensure that liquidity remains aligned with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework, addressing interest rate, currency, and counterparty risks, ensuring that the companyʼs financial exposure is minimized.
- Debt Facilities and Cash Operations Oversee cash operations related to secured debt facilities, minimizing trapped cash, improving operational efficiency, and introducing automation where possible. Outcome Minimize trapped cash to less than X% and implement automated processes to enhance efficiency in managing debt facility cash flows.
- Treasury Controls
- Implement and monitor Treasury controls over all cash movements within the company, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. - Lead the implementation of Treasury controls, processes, and audit requirements as the company transitions into a regulated entity. Ensure that Treasury operations meet the demands of a regulated banking environment.
- Successfully implement and maintain all Treasury processes and controls required for regulatory compliance, passing all internal and external audits with no major issues.
