Reflections
December is a time to reflect, and to celebrate. Yes, Christmas and new year but also Pecunia’s anniversary. And we turn 11 this year.
In the region I live these funny numbers are extra special, they relate to carnival, a festive period of celebration that unites people.
What a nice analogy to our Interim Treasurer Network which we launched last year and took flight this year. We unite interim treasurers. Not only with clients but also amongst each other.
Looking back at 11 years of interim and growth I am proud of what we achieved. We have build treasuries from scratch or improved them. Saved clients millions in fees or risk. But it all went upwards when we decide to create the interim treasurer network.
It all started when more and more clients approached me for interim and consulting work and I had to turn it down because I wasn’t available (immediately). Yes, I recommended other people but never fully knew who was available. It was time to professionalize that. Also some of the intermediaries I worked with charge a relatively high margin making it difficult to make both client, intermediary and consultant happy.
The Interim Treasury Network
So we decided to shake things up. The Interim Treasury Network was born. A network of freelance interimmers and consultants. All freelancers and entrepreneurs with their own skillsets and knowledge, ambitions and preferences. Via the Pecunia umbrella.
Pecunia now always has a suitable candidate for a interim treasury role, or a consultants need, a treasury project or TMS/SAP implementation. And if we do not have work for the consultant or they have their own assignments they are still welcome to reap the benefits of the network. Sparring with the other members, information exchange, tips & tricks. We refer each other, we even organize educational sessions with some of our partners. No freelancer in treasury has to be “alone” anymore. No other intermediary does this.
We met physically once and had drinks together, this has become more challenging now as we grew into DACH, France, UK, Middle East and the US, even some in Africa and Asia. By the end of the year the network should boost a 160 headcount.
More clients are finding us every day as well which I am happy about. They realize that the added value of an intermediary who knows about treasury is high. We can actually brainstorm with a client what profile they need and what qualities they need in an interim or consultant. Without disrespecting the other intermediaries; they cannot do that to our level. Our consultants are all entrepreneurs; they have their own reputation to hold up and are motivated to get the job done, with their knowledge and their passion.
I don’t want to turn this into a marketing blog, when I write this down I get enthusiastic and motivated to grow more. There are some much more clients we help build their treasury, improve it, upgrade their tech and save them money. Not sure if your treasury is world class ? lets brainstorm. Pick my brain for free.
Looking Ahead
In 2025 we will launch our new website. Fresh design and better functionality. The existing landingpage to find your interim will be more prominent and we added filters to make it easier for clients to pre-select. But we promise to send you candidates within 24H anyway so you might as well contact us directly. Landingpage here: Pecunia Treasury & Finance
We are also adding more people to our client success team. Now 1 person for Benelux and another one for all other countries are sometimes too busy. Are you motivated to work in talking to treasurers from all over the world let me know!
Let me end with saying that I am very approachable. When I reach out to people for a chat or catchup they are usually happy to do so. Treasury is all about sharing. So don’t be shy and let me know if you want to catch up, I will make time for it. Happily!
For now, I hope you can wind down for Christmas, reflect on what you achieved, and maybe didn’t (yet) achieve. Enjoy the festivities, with family, friends or on your own. Fresh start for 2025.
